Aggggggggg. Horrifying. My hairs are all suitably at attention.

Rule #1 of entities : don't lead them back to your home. Run around the area, go to a pub, grab a bus/ taxi.

Rule #2 Never, ever acknowledge them

Rule #3 no idea, I'm just winging it

I've only seen 1 entity. I was around 12, in my bed, dead of night, and I felt a presence that woke me up. I saw a large dark form in my doorway, darker than the night around it. I thought it was one of my parents at first until I realized it was up to the door frame, over 6 feet, which my parents were not. It made my hair stand on end. It drifted off after awhile. I asked my parents the next day if they'd been in the doorway during that night, they insisted they hadn't and it certainly hadn't 'felt ' like them. I didnt sense malice or evil though.

I agree on the 80's being difficult for people who were deemed different. In the early 80's, as a teenager, I was ostracized for reading a lot, for getting good marks, for speaking 'properly' (my mother was an English teacher), for not being good at sports, and for not being from the town I lived in. It basically sucked, I wish I'd had a bit of your attitude.

Looking forward (kinda) to the continuation, though I'll likely get nightmares.

As for Rule #1, on entities, and leading them back to your house - you sounded so authoritative that my first reaction was: Of course! What was I thinking!?

Rule #2 Also seemed quite sound.

Rule #3 ... You know, I was trusting you up until this point!

When you saw that figure in your doorway, was it wearing a hat? If you google 'hat man' or 'shadow people' and 'sleep paralysis' or combinations of those, you'll be in for quite a ride. A lot of people see a dark figure in their rooms, late at night and quite often, wearing a hat. Rummage through Reddit. I remember some thread, years ago, in which all sorts of people began to freak out, realizing that other people saw the same person.

I just posted another story, but it's not technically a continuation. It just popped into my mind, and I thought I'd write it down, while I could still remember it. I feel like I'm currently trying to get the supernatural encounters out of my system. There's a few more to come.

No hat but, Ok, down the reddit rabbit hole I go. I'm scared 😱
